I have an equipment question, is there a professional I can speak with?
Yes, our Certified Scuba Instructors are available to answer your equipment questions, issue custom package price quotes, assist with sizing and more. You can speak with one by calling us Toll Free: 800.766.6090. You can also send an email to support@123scuba.com and one of our representatives will promptly respond.
I heard that any scuba equipment purchased online does not have a warranty, is this true?
No, all of the equipment purchased from us comes with the complete warranty from the manufacturer in addition to our own Satisfaction Guarantee. This is one of the many reasons that set us apart from the rest. Warranty service can be obtained from any authorized dealer, direct from the manufacturer or through us. We are authorized dealers for every product we offer.
Some manufacturers do not allow their equipment to be sold online or through the mail. These manufactures actually track product serial numbers, void the product warranty and will deny the customer warranty service. Such policies do not necessarily prevent their products from being found online, they just prevent the purchaser from getting the support they thought was included.
We believe that a full warranty must be included as a part of any product purchase. The warranty a manufacturer is willing to offer speaks about the quality of their products. In fact, many of the products we carry come with a Lifetime Warranty from the manufacturer. Our experience and expertise enables us to offer quite a wide range of quality equipment. We will not offer a product unless it includes a complete warranty. Again, this is one many reasons why people choose 123Scuba.com.
I’m interested in purchasing a Regulator System, will I have to put it together myself?
No, our Factory Certified Technicians professionally assemble and bench test your equipment system. Our “Ready2 Dive” services are included as a part of the purchase and there are no additional charges for this service. When you purchase your equipment from 123Scuba.com it arrives at your door ready to gear up and go diving. We even install equipment accessories and add-on options at no additional charge to your specifications.
I would like to purchase a tank (cylinder), is the Visual Inspection included?
Yes, all scuba cylinders require a current Visual Inspection in order to be filled. Our cylinders include this Visual Inspection and we affix a validated Visual inspection Sticker prior to shipment. Cylinders are shipped with a storage fill of about 300 PSI. (This is the reason why only Ground shipping is available on cylinders.) When your cylinder arrives at your door the valve is in place and it is ready for full pressurization. If your order included a tank boot, protective mesh or bumper that will also already have been installed. Again, these services are included with your purchase from us.
I noticed you don’t carry every brand name of scuba equipment, why is that?
There are hundreds of brands in the diving industry each with its own models of products. However, much of this equipment is made by an OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer). Because of this, the same exact product (or almost identical product) may be offered under many different brand names, often at very different prices and/or with a different warranty.
At 123Scuba.com, not only do we strive to offer you the highest quality products with superior customer service, we do it at discount prices. We even buy some our products direct from the Original Equipment Manufacturer and pass that savings on to you. Additionally, many of the products we offer have patented features available only to that specific brand and model. The superior in-water performance of such products sets them apart from a lot of the gear on the market. If you had something specific in mind, let us know. We may have the exact product, the same exact product under a different brand name, a comparable product, or even a better product for less money.
I see you carry a brand I am looking for but don’t see the model I want, do you have it?
Because we are a stocking company maintaining a full inventory, we select models from a specific brand based on their features, industry rating, in-water performance, value for the dollar, our own professional in-field evaluations and other additional factors. Not every model in a brand of products performs the same and may not be of the same quality as another model from the same manufacturer. Also, since many brands have the same products often at very different prices, we may stock the same product from a different brand in order to continue providing top quality equipment at discount prices.
We are able to special order products for you and offer a complete range of custom services for a broad range of specifications. Our professionals are happy to assist you, so please do not hesitate to contact us.
What is Nitrox and what does it mean when equipment states it’s “Nitrox Ready”?
Nitrox, (also called EANx, Enriched Air, SafeAir, N202) is an alternate breathing gas used now by both recreational and technical Scuba Divers. Simply put, Nitrox has a higher partial pressure of oxygen which in turn lowers the amount of Nitrogen, resulting in longer available bottom times and/or safer profiles depending on how the diver chooses to apply the benefits to their dive profile. There are specific certification courses required to use Nitrox varying in length from beginner to technical and so on.
Because Nitrox contains a higher percentage of oxygen than air the equipment must be compatible to be used with Nitrox. Specifically the type of parts, o-rings and lubricant must be appropriate for these higher percentages of oxygen. There is still a bit of controversy in the Scuba Diving Industry surrounding Nitrox cleaning and conversion. It is common to get very different points of views, which can be a bit confusing for a diver just getting into it.
When a manufacturer says that their regulator is “Nitrox Ready” out of the box they are stating that the regulator has been cleaned to remove any hydrocarbons, assembled with Viton o-rings and uses an oxygen compatible lubricant. These higher grade materials are designed to perform safely in oxygen rich environments.
Do you have Nitrox Ready Equipment?
Yes, we have a great selection of equipment specifically cleaned and converted to manufacturer’s specifications for Nitrox (Enriched Air, EANx, SafeAir„, etc.) Our Certified Service Technicians can also convert a product for you should it not be available Nitrox Ready out-of the-box from the manufacturer. Additionally, all of the tanks (cylinders) we carry can be converted for Nitrox upon request for an additional charge.
I am concerned about buying online because I can’t try it on, what if it doesn’t fit?
We have gone to great lengths to select top quality, well fitting products. Many of our products are more adjustable than their inferior counterparts. This not only allows for a better fit, they perform better in the water because of their advanced design. Additionally, we have online size charts available to better help you determine your size. Our Certified Scuba Instructors are professional equipment counselors with years of experience fitting snorkelers and divers just like you. They are available to assist you and answer your equipment questions.
That said, should you not feel comfortable with the fit of any product you purchase from us you are welcome to return the unused product for a refund, exchange or credit. Please see our Satisfaction Guarantee for more information.
I just received some equipment I purchased from you, do I need to validate my warranty?
Some of our products have warranty cards that should be filled out and mailed within a period of time to fully validate the warranty. Keep a copy of your receipt in a safe place. Your receipt is the ultimate proof of purchase should warranty service ever be necessary.
I like one of your Package Deals but want to make a change, can I do that?
Yes, we will gladly adjust a package or put a custom package together for you. We pride ourselves on the personal touch and superior customer service we offer. In fact, many of our customers choose us over local dive shops because we actually give them a better level of service.
The packages featured on our site are some of our most popular combinations, but not the only options we have. Do not hesitate to contact one of our diving professionals with your specific questions and requirements.
